Beginners class. Learn the procedures for turning pens out of wood, finishing options and assembly. You can come with no experience and leave with a finished pen.
In terms of woodworking power tools, hand-held routers are very useful in the workshop considering how easy they are to use freehand or paired with a jig. Mounting a router into a table turns this handy tool into a powerful machine. This arrangement leaves your hands free to manipulate the work, and enables you to use stops, fences, and hold-downs to control the cut. This orientation also offers a fresh vantage, allowing you to see what the bit is doing to the work. Using a table-mounted router isn't difficult, but it isn't fool-proof. This class will teach you tips and techniques to get the most out of this useful tool.
This is an intermediate level class with a recommended Bandsaw Basics class pre-requisite, but not required. Students will learn how to create a simple bandsaw box from start to finish. Class includes and overview of the process, the creation of a blank, layout of your box, creating a drawer, and finishing your box. All participants will leave with their own custom completed box. Cost includes wood for blanks and shop supplies.
Beginners class. Discuss the scroll saw, various types of blades, and types of projects the scroll saw can be used for. Class members will practice basic cutting techniques and start and or complete a basic project for the upcoming holiday seasons.

Dovetails are the pinnacle joint of woodworking. Learn the setup of the jig and router. Then how to cut both half blind and thought dovetails. Porter Cable jigs will be available. You can bring you own jig and router.
Intermediate class. Learn the basics of bowl turning on a lathe. Utilizing face plates, chucks and bowl gouges. Previous knowledge of turning required, whether having taken a class, or real-world experience.
Beginners class. Discuss blade installation and basic saw setup. Introduction to resaw and basic cutting. Class members will work with instructor to setup bandsaw and create a set of salad servers.
Sharpening is a critical woodworking skill. Learn the how to keep your tools razor sharp. The class will cover a range of tool sharpening from grinders with a jig to hand sharpening with a variety of stones. Participants should bring in their hand tools and chisels to sharpen in class.
